This current project shows that Curved Glulam beams are not limited to commercial projects…Curved Atek beams and straight columns were supplied to this private house in Limerick both their superb functionality and their aesthetic effect. The beams are curved to suit the roof profile in the architects drawings and the client chose to leave the beams exposed on the inside. The main advantages of using Glulam in a curved application like this is that the roof covering  can be fixed directly to the top of the curves without. Comparable structural  materials require timbers to be fastened to the top and bottom of the beams to take the roof covering or plasterboarding, this was not the case here.
